Dr. Wilson has always been interested in science, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology from Mississippi State University before pursuing a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Tennessee Memphis College of Dentistry!

A long-time member of the Chattanooga community, Dr. J. Wayne Newman received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Tennessee Memphis College of Dentistry, also completing a pediatric specialty program in 1991.

Dr. Brock attended the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in Memphis, where she received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery. Now, she works as an essential part of our team as a general dentist on the PDOC smile team!

Dr. Bearden fell in love with dentistry while shadowing her mentor at Kansas State University, and completed her pediatric dental residency in Salt Lake City, Utah. She is dedicated to providing excellent pediatric dental care to the Chattanooga area.

Through fun, personal and positive interaction, our team of Pediatric Dentists will teach patients how to perform daily hygiene practices and introduce age-appropriate ways to encourage healthy dental habits.

Meet Our Pet Therapy Dogs!

Meet Mabel, our PDOC team member and pet therapy dog! Mabel is an 8-year-old multigen labradoodle who has been a part of the UTK H.A.B.I.T. (Human Animal Bond Tennessee) program for over 6 years, visiting nearby schools and patients at Erlanger Hospital. She loves hugs, car rides and drive-thrus with pup cups. Mabel has enjoyed a nice relaxing summer and is ready to meet the patients of PDOC! Come and see Mabel at our Cleveland Pediatric Dental location.

Meet Birkin, the newest member of our pet therapy program! Like Mabel, Birkin is an official participant in the UTK H.A.B.I.T. (Human Animal Bond Tennessee) program. He’s ready to bring comfort and smiles during visits at our Ooltewah and Riverfront Parkway Pediatric Dental locations. To spend time with Birkin, patients and families can schedule pet therapy visits in advance. We’re excited for you to meet Birkin and experience the joy he brings!
